At Aathichudi, we understand the emotional and physical strain on parents and caregivers of critically ill children. Our Seva initiative at Egmore Children’s Hospital (ICH) is dedicated to supporting these caregivers in any way we can. Through weekly food distribution, we provide 250+ meals every Sunday to those who have little to no access to regular meals while caring for their loved ones. This small act of kindness provides them not only with nourishment but also a sense of comfort during their challenging times.
Food distribution is one of the cornerstones of our mission. Every Sunday, our volunteers arrive at Egmore Children’s Hospital, where they distribute over 250 food packets to caregivers and families who are spending long, emotionally charged hours at the hospital. Many caregivers find themselves isolated from their homes, and access to food becomes a secondary concern. Through our program, we ensure that they are not forgotten—providing them with nutritious meals and the support they need to stay strong.
The Cancer Institute (ACH) in Guindy is one of the leading healthcare facilities for cancer treatment in the region. Patients undergoing treatment here often experience financial and emotional difficulties. Our SEVA initiative at ACH aims to provide immediate relief to these families. Every Saturday at 2 PM, we distribute fruits and biscuits to caregivers of cancer patients, offering them not just nourishment but a moment of relief in a long, exhausting day. This program brings a small yet significant sense of normalcy to their daily routines, reminding them they are not alone in their battle.
When children are diagnosed with terminal illnesses, their families experience overwhelming emotional and financial burdens. At Aathichudi, we offer specialized services to children and their families who are going through this heartbreaking journey. Our support includes: Providing new clothes during significant festivals, such as Diwali, so that children experience a moment of joy and celebration. Delivering toys and essentials to make their environment more comforting and hopeful. Psychosocial support for parents, offering them a sense of care and emotional solace during their most difficult times. These services are designed to ensure that these children live their final days with dignity, joy, and the love they deserve.
Many of our services at Aathichudi might seem like small gestures: a warm meal, a new dress, or a hygiene kit. But when you step into the shoes of someone who is struggling, these simple acts can make a world of difference. In this post, we highlight the significance of these everyday acts of kindness and how they help create lasting change. From feeding the hungry to providing basic sanitary products, we believe that each small act contributes to creating a more compassionate world.
This Diwali 2025, we aim to bring joy to the lives of underprivileged children in Thiruvallur. Many kids in this community are unable to experience the true spirit of the festival, and we want to change that by providing gifts, food, and festive essentials. Through donations of toys, clothes, sweets, and educational materials, as well as monetary contributions, we hope to light up their lives with the warmth and joy of Diwali. By sponsoring a child or volunteering your time, you can help make this festival truly special for these kids, ensuring they feel the happiness and togetherness that Diwali brings.
